About the Role

The Manager of Patient Flow Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Nursing Administration and ensuring the seamless coordination of safe and effective patient care services within the healthcare facility. This position is crucial for maintaining appropriate staffing levels to meet patient needs and census.

In the absence of hospital administration, the Manager will supervise nursing personnel and manage all activities related to hospital and bed utilization. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with patients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to resolve challenges, ultimately aiming for high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services that enhance patient experiences and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care services.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient census.
  • Manage hospital and bed utilization activities.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to address patient care challenges.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment and initiative in line with the organization's objectives.

Qualifications

We invite candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Program.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant nursing authority.
  • A minimum of three years of medical/surgical experience in an acute care environment.
  • At least two years of nursing management experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Competence in matching utilization needs with available resources.
  • Physical capability to perform duties involving lifting, bending, and stretching.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an asset, with a preference for French.

Work Schedule

  • This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Shifts will include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $53.34. Successful candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
