Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain ventilation and air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for our patients and staff.
- Maintain logs and records relating to the safety and efficiency of plant mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and established standards.
- Assist in the maintenance of buildings and equipment, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and meet the needs of our patients and staff.
- Work collaboratively with our facilities team to ensure that all functions are completed in accordance with legislation, established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Exhibit sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Directions of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced 3rd Class Power Engineer who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- Certification as Shift Operator Third Class or eligibility for Inter-Provincial Third Class Power Engineer Certification of Qualification.
- One to two years' experience in plant operations, with a strong understanding of applicable safety regulations, building codes, and CSA standards.
- Ability to use a variety of hand, power, and industrial tools for measuring, cutting, welding, and assembling.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, with French preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $29.95 - $30.44 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
