About the Role

As a vital member of our culinary team, the Culinary Specialist I plays a key role in the preparation and cooking of meals tailored for our patients and clients. Under the guidance of the Manager and Supervisors, you will be responsible for following standardized recipes to ensure that all menu items meet our high-quality standards.

Maintaining exceptional food safety and sanitation practices is crucial in this position. You will consistently adhere to established procedures and guidelines to uphold the integrity of our food services.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to the patient/client menu.
  • Follow quantity recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Uphold food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
  • Integrate our organizational values and mission into your daily work.
Qualifications

We invite candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED.
  • Food Safety Level 1 certification (Food Handlers).
  • At least one year of recent experience in a cooking role.
  • Familiarity with food handling and safety practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding all organizational matters.
  • Dedication to fostering a culture of safety and ethical practice.
