Position Overview

The Assistant Warehouse Manager, reporting to the Warehouse General Manager, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the warehouse team's performance. This individual will champion our 'Safety First' ethos while delivering exceptional training to both new and existing employees. Building strong interdepartmental relationships and maintaining a high standard of customer service are key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the warehouse department.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts.
  • Oversee branch profit and loss management.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators and operational metrics.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience.
  • Diploma in Warehouse Management or Logistics & Supply Chain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current or previous forklift certification.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and RF technology.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and customer service abilities.
  • Solid background in health and safety practices.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse setting.
  • Travel required, approximately one day per week.
