About the Role

Strides Toronto, a leading charity organization, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the position of Director, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA). As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing the organization's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for the planning and implementation of IDEA initiatives, utilizing an anti-racism and anti-oppression (ARAO) framework.
  • Lead the advancement of Strides Toronto's strategy related to health equity and the social determinants of health.
  • Implement best practices in IDEA, ARAO, and anti-Black racism (ABR) across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Vice-President, Corporate Services and Vice President, Service Excellence to ensure EDI best practices are reflected in the organization's Corporate Services.
  • Develop and facilitate training initiatives to promote a culture of inclusion and equity.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in human rights, equity, diversity, social justice, or social work.
  • Senior leadership experience working closely with historically marginalized communities.
  • Proven track record of managing a broad IDEA portfolio and developing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills.
  • A deep understanding of ARAO frameworks and sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical skills, and research skills.
