Job Title: Pastry Sous Chef
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Toptable Group. As a Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Pastry Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and breads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and create innovative pastry and dessert products
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and breads
- Maintain a high level of quality and presentation in all pastry and dessert products
- Sample and taste ingredients and finished products to ensure quality and flavor
- Lead by example and inspire the team to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation
- Stay up-to-date with food trends and contemporary developments in pastry
- Monitor inventory and budget to ensure efficient use of resources
- Communicate and coordinate with the team and FOH managers
Requirements:
- At least two years of related pastry experience
- Able to work weekends, mornings, and nights
- Completion of a designated culinary school
- Passionate and knowledgeable about bread making, classic baking techniques, and individual dessert plating
- Ability to multi-task with an eye for detail
- Organized and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong English communication skills
- An understanding of scheduling and inventory
