Position: Pastry Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Toptable Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bread-making, fine pastry, and cake making, with a focus on individual dessert plating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create innovative pastries, desserts, and breads that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Prepare and execute daily prep items with precision and attention to detail, using only the freshest ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to our strict standards of cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
  • Lead by example, inspiring our team to deliver exceptional food experiences that exceed our guests' expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest food trends and developments in the pastry industry, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our menu offerings.
  • Monitor inventory and budget, ensuring the best use of resources and allocation of expenses.
  • Communicate effectively with our team and FOH managers to ensure seamless execution of our culinary vision.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in a related pastry role.
  • Ability to work weekends, mornings, and nights, as required.
  • Completion of a recognized culinary program or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for bread-making, classic baking techniques, and individual dessert plating.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong English communication skills.
  • Understanding of scheduling and inventory management.
  • Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, CIS, or a valid work permit.
