Project Billing Specialist

NORR is an employee-owned global architecture and engineering firm seeking a skilled Project Billing Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the local Accounting team, Project Managers, and Principals to manage the project billing process, monitor progress, investigate variances, apply expenses, and ensure project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected in accordance with established accounting standards and company policies.
- Communicate with Project Managers and Principals-in-Charge regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications, approvals, and additional services-related to billing.
- Set up billing terms for new projects, transfer employee billable hours and/or expenses, open and close time classes and timesheet comments in the accounting system.
- Prepare final invoice packages containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects.
- Research unbilled issues to optimize billing possibilities for the billing period and ensure AP coding to direct/reimbursable agrees with the contract.
- Reconcile contract value with billed fees and address any billing discrepancies or disputes.
- Analyze and prepare sub-Consultant payments based on PWP for management's approval.
- Provide support to Project Managers for accounts receivable collection and reporting requests.
- Assist with fiscal year-end audits and ad-hoc requests as needed.
- Have successfully completed related post-secondary education equivalent to a college diploma in Accounting.
- Possess knowledge of accounting principles and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- 1-4 years of experience.
- Experience with project billing and Deltek Vantagepoint is preferred.
