Position Overview:

Cozen O'Connor is in search of a dedicated Billing Specialist to join our Finance team. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and circulate pre-bills on a monthly basis and upon request.
  • Handle narrative modifications, time entries, and cost adjustments.
  • Process final billing statements.
  • Create LEDES and other electronic billing formats.
  • Submit electronic invoices through various vendor platforms.
  • Ensure the successful transmission of electronic bills and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain precise and organized records of all client billing guidelines.
  • Implement and uphold correct client exception rates for matters and clients as necessary.
  • Manage a portfolio of business by keeping updated information on attorney preferences, proforma statuses, and billing schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • Experience with billing systems and Aderant is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on accuracy.
  • Proactive approach, capable of thriving under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively.
  • Professional and courteous communication with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and colleagues is essential.
  • A high school diploma (or G.E.D.) is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm setting is advantageous.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is CAD $80,000 - $120,000, reflecting the firm's good faith estimate of possible compensation. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
