The Bilingual Billing and Collections Specialist at Lifemark plays a crucial role in overseeing the invoicing and collections process within the revenue cycle. This position entails the creation and assessment of invoices based on clinic data, timely dispatch of invoices to funding sources, and diligent follow-up on overdue accounts by engaging with relevant parties for payment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of billing information and implement necessary corrections.
  • Address and rectify discrepancies in patient financial records.
  • Issue invoices in accordance with Lifemark's established protocols.
  • Inform clinics of any billing-related challenges.
  • Engage with clinics and leverage available resources to resolve issues.
  • Document essential notes in patient financial accounts.
  • Adhere to compliance standards in billing practices.
  • Utilize system-generated reports to facilitate task completion.

Furthermore, this role encompasses collection duties such as monitoring accounts, conducting outbound collection communications, addressing billing inquiries, and maintaining precise records.

Required Skills:

  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Understanding of billing processes and collection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet performance targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and adapt to evolving situations.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 diploma; a bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in corporate collections or 1 year in a comparable administrative capacity.
  • Familiarity with medical and vocational terminology is preferred.
