Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

The RBC Investor and Services and Technology division is in search of a Senior Technical Systems Analyst to enhance an application dedicated to processing foreign exchange transactions.

In this capacity, you will take charge of the design and development of solutions on the Kondor+ platform for pivotal RBC projects.

The Senior Technical Systems Analyst will collaborate across IT and Business sectors to evaluate, investigate, and analyze business, technical, and system requirements, implementing technical solutions that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in the technical design, development, and deployment of application systems. Utilize comprehensive knowledge, skills, and practices to execute tasks effectively.

  • Coordinate and participate in detailed reviews of all technical specifications, programs, and unit test plans.
  • Analyze issues and requirements presented by business stakeholders.
  • Develop, code, and document programs of varying complexity using languages such as SQL, Java, and Unix scripting, tailored to the target solution.
  • Contribute to the successful completion of projects within budget and timelines by identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Diagnose root causes and resolve incidents and project challenges.
  • Oversee all aspects of testing and verification, ensuring thorough execution of all tasks.
  • Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and training materials are available.
  • Deliver new design and development specifications based on client requirements while adhering to established procedures and methodologies.
  • Create test transactions and execute tests to identify errors and refine application programs.
  • Engage in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continuously strive to foster a learning environment by sharing insights from the participation process with colleagues.
  • Assist in the deployment of application programs; address any existing or new bugs.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of technology and/or the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in IT Systems and environments, particularly the Kondor suite of tools (K+, K+TP, KGR).
  • A minimum of 3 years of development experience in banking technology is preferred.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Linux, and Java.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with IT Standards, Methodologies, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and ITIL processes.
  • Engage in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continuously strive to foster a learning environment by sharing insights from the participation process with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps automation tools (e.g., Helios, UrbanCodeDeploy, GitHub).
  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions and businesses.
