Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Nexus Systems Group Inc. as a key member of our Operational Risk technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Risk Support: Provide primary day-to-day operational and production support for our Operational Risk technology solutions, coordinating activities with global stakeholders and support teams, escalating issues, leading service recovery teams, and conducting root cause analysis.
- Escalation and Problem-Solving: Escalate issues to Senior Manager for assistance and/or escalation purposes, quickly analyze problems, resolve escalated issues, and provide recommendations to management regarding resolution.
- Documentation and Communication: Support the design and manage administrative documentation and procedures for user access & application support, ensuring internal support processes are understood, documented, validated, updated & communicated to key stakeholders.
- Support Mailboxes and ServiceNow: Manage Support mailboxes and ServiceNow ticket queue, responding to queries in a timely manner, adhering to documented Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Business Partner Communication: Manage communication with business partners and effectively communicate with technology groups as well as users throughout the Bank.
- Operational Risk Solutions: Provide support in the delivery of Operational Risk technology solutions that meet business objectives, enabling users to perform system activities effectively and efficiently.
- Culture and Risk Awareness: Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge, understanding how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Operational Risk Management: Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations concerning operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.
- High-Performance Environment: Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
- Data Mapping and Documentation: Support any necessary data mapping and documents information flow to support specific business requirements.
- Change Management: Support the development and implementation of change management strategies to maximize user adoption while minimizing barriers with GOR systems.
- System Training and Knowledge Transfer: Support the delivery of system training and knowledge transfer to user communities.
- General Knowledge and Awareness: Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk.
- Relevant Experience: 5+ years of relevant functional and/or technical experience, preferably as a Business Analyst/System Analyst.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools (Word, PowerPoint) and advanced skills in the use of MS Excel (macros; formulas).
- Research and Analysis: 3+ years of experience completing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research.
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence: Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish.
- Operational Risk Platforms: Experience with Operational Risk platforms and methodologies, and their application in judicious decision-making.
- Mapping and Flow Chart Software: Experience with mapping & flow chart software tools (e.g., MS Visio).
- Financial Industry Experience: Experience working in FI.
- Communication and Presentation: Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Problem-Solving: Solid problem-solving skills.
- Growth Mindset: Growth mindset with intellectual curiosity, proactiveness and passion for continuous learning.
- Interpersonal Skills: Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Complex Information Presentation: Ability to present complex information in a simplified way to various audiences.
Post-Secondary degree/diploma + required work experience will suffice.
The ideal candidate would be willing to take initiative and be able to quickly translate the issues from the end-user to solutions to the business team. The ideal candidate would always resolve issues within the given SLA and would be an enthusiastic individual, curious to learn more about their role.
