About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst to join our team at Nexus Systems Group Inc. as an IT Systems Administrator and Application Support Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project End-to-End Support: Work on project end-to-end to define procedures and processes, and push changes through delivery.
  • Application Support: Provide application support tasks, including OS Level and Application Level support.
  • Vulnerability Management: Address vulnerability issues and work with L2 support for OS issues.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report to the Manager and communicate effectively with technical peers and business stakeholders.
  • Business Line Support: Work with multiple business lines, including payments, back office teams, and supporting end-of-day jobs.
Candidate Requirements
  • Technical Experience: 5-7+ years of working experience as a Technical Analyst, with 3+ years of progressive and current hands-on technical working experience with Oracle Solaris (Sun Solaris) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Application Support: Demonstrate hands-on technical working experience in supporting application/web servers, such as Apache Tomcat and Red Hat JBoss.
  • Business Application Support: Demonstrate a technical working knowledge of critical business application support from a systems perspective.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • IBM MQ Experience: Working experience in IBM MQ is an asset.
  • Banking Industry Experience: Previous exposure to the banking industry/financial services is an asset.
  • Oracle WebLogic Administration: Working experience as an Oracle WebLogic administrator.
  • Korn Shell Scripting: Working experience in the use of korn shell (k-shell) scripting to perform automation tasks.
Soft Skills
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders.
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving: Strong decision-making, forward thinking, and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
Education
  • Post-Secondary Degree: Post-secondary degree in a technical field, such as computer science, computer engineering, or related IT field, is an asset.
