North Island College is seeking a dedicated Coordinator for the Office Administration program. This role involves independently managing routine administrative tasks associated with the program.
The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in formulating policies, establishing external partnerships, providing daily leadership, and ensuring departmental involvement in selection processes.
Additionally, the Coordinator offers recommendations regarding vacations and short-term leaves, advises students and the public about the program's scope, participates in student recruitment, and supports quality assurance initiatives.
The Coordinator will also liaise with online partner institutions for Office Administration and oversee daily program operations in collaboration with the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Science & Management.
Furthermore, the Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering current information to prospective OA students, including evaluations of potential program waiver candidates.
The Coordinator will assist in developing program-related policies, communicate priorities to faculty, plan workloads, and attend meetings with other partner post-secondary institutions, along with any additional responsibilities as required.

- Assist with internal and external reporting as necessary.
- Support course scheduling and the development of faculty work assignments.
- Guide students in identifying suitable career paths based on their aspirations.
- Establish meaningful connections with student advisors for program-specific guidance.
- Maintain effective communication with faculty, staff, and external partners to promote collaboration and program success.
- Work with high school recruiters and marketing professionals to enhance program visibility and attract prospective students.
- Develop relationships with community professionals to support program quality assurance initiatives.
- Incorporate Indigenization practices into program planning and curriculum development.
- Provide support to students facing challenges and promote overall well-being.
- Coordinate work placement opportunities as needed.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field related to Office Administration; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A Provincial Instructors Diploma is preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in Office Administration is required.
- A minimum of three years of related online and face-to-face teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required.
- At least three years of relevant experience in office administration or management is required.
- Experience in curriculum design and development is preferred.
- Technical proficiency with Brightspace (D2L LMS).
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in computer applications aligned with best business practices.
- Demonstrated instructional abilities using various creative and motivating approaches to enhance learning in an online environment.
- Commitment to student success.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with online faculty, coordinators, student groups, employers, and staff.
