Mission

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Project Engineer / Manager, Water Resources who is keen to join our expanding water resources team. Collaborating with fellow team members, you will lead the execution of high-caliber projects that fulfill or surpass client expectations while achieving planned profitability. Additionally, you will be a strong advocate for our safety protocols and our culture of care.

This position will operate in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project delivery for planning studies, along with preliminary and detailed design for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Execute preliminary and detailed design of site works to support the development of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Manage and organize work with technical teams to ensure project deliverables meet requirements regarding scope, budget, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management.
  • Provide support to our Field Services team during construction phases, offering guidance and direction.
  • Mentor and empower the project team, including junior engineers and technical support personnel.
  • Monitor, control, and report on project performance metrics.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and cash flow management.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients.
  • Assist in business development and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Proven expertise in planning and designing water and wastewater conveyance projects, including a solid understanding of hydraulics.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary project team environment to prepare conceptual and detailed design documents, specifications, and reports; contract documents; and approvals applications.
  • Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in report and proposal writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to work.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including MS Project.
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
  • Involvement with OPWA, OWWA, WEAO, or similar organizations is a plus.
