Skeena Resources Limited is a Canadian exploration mining firm dedicated to the revitalization of the historically productive Eskay Creek gold-silver mine, alongside various development initiatives within our portfolio, all situated in Tahltan Territory in the Golden Triangle of northwest British Columbia, Canada.
Recognized as the highest-grade gold mine globally during its operational phase, Eskay Creek has a rich history.
We prioritize Health and Safety, Environmental stewardship, and Community engagement, collaborating closely with our Indigenous partners, valuing traditional knowledge and respect for the land.
Skeena is devoted to the principles of UNDRIP and actively engages with local Indigenous Nations and Communities. Our company is at the forefront of promoting reconciliation, diversity, and inclusion within our sector.
Position Overview:
Project Engineer
Reporting directly to the Director of Construction and Engineering, the Project Engineer will be instrumental in steering multi-disciplinary engineering, procurement, and construction efforts to support the revitalization of the Eskay Creek project.
As the project advances through Detailed Engineering, the focus will shift towards both on-site and off-site infrastructure initiatives to facilitate the EPCM of the new Process Plant and associated facilities.
The role requires expertise in design, particularly in earthworks and water/slurry pumping systems, with a foundational understanding of Mechanical Systems and Electrical design being advantageous.
- Ensure that the Procurement and Contract Management processes align with expectations.
- Possess a comprehensive multi-disciplinary knowledge base to guide engineering progress towards Skeena's unified objectives.
- Guarantee adherence to industry standards and regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate closely with environmental teams to ensure that water management practices comply with environmental regulations and best practices, minimizing the project's ecological footprint.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
- Experience in mining is preferred, particularly in a New Build Construction context.
- Proficient computer skills using the MS Office suite are essential.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities are crucial.
- This position entails a blend of responsibilities between the Vancouver corporate office and the Eskay Creek site, requiring occasional travel away from home and to various work locations or events outside of standard office hours.
