Job Title: Project Engineer

Reporting directly to Skeena’s Director, Construction and Engineering, the Project Engineer will play a crucial role in leading multi-disciplinary engineering, procurement and construction activities in support of the Eskay Creek revitalization project. As the project completes the Detailed Engineering, the role will focus on both on and off-site infrastructure projects to support the EPCM of the new Process Plant and ancillary facilities.

Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
  1. Work with and direct EP consultants who complete specific scopes of work under your supervision.
  2. Drives accountability to ensure earned value key criteria is within expectation.
  3. Able to assist in design, especially on earthworks and water/slurry pumping systems. An understanding of Mechanical Systems and Electrical design is an asset.
  4. When working with EP consultants, ensures that Safety by Design and Constructability & Operability is fully understood and built into all aspects of the design and operations readiness lifecycle.
  5. Ensures that the Procurement and Contract Management process is within expectation.
  6. Have an in-depth multi-disciplinary working knowledge as you guide engineering advancement towards the Skeena common goal.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  8. Work closely with environmental teams to ensure that water management practices meet environmental regulations and best practices, minimizing the project's impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
  9. All other duties as reasonably assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
  1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
  2. Mining experience is preferred, ideally in a New Build Construction environment.
  3. Designated Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia or actively working towards their designation.
  4. Strong computer skills using MS office suite is required.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Must possess very strong attention to detail.
  7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently as needed.

This is a blended job with a combination of Vancouver corporate office and Eskay Creek site presence required. This job requires the incumbent to be able to work away from home occasionally and to be able to travel to different work locations or events outside of regular office hours as well as traveling to Skeena’s remote project sites and collaborate with internal and external parties.
