Role Overview: The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in civil engineering or construction management, with a specialization in hydrology and environmental compliance. This position demands exceptional leadership, project management, and analytical skills to guarantee that projects are executed safely, punctually, and within financial constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all on-site operations related to small-scale water projects.
- Establish project timelines, budgets, and resource distribution plans.
- Ensure adherence to all environmental regulations and standards.
- Supervise the construction of water diversions and instream works.
- Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring all required permits and approvals are secured.
- Conduct risk evaluations and formulate mitigation strategies for operations in sensitive environments.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and site personnel to meet project specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Track project progress and performance, making necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to stakeholders.
- Implement and uphold health and safety protocols across all project sites.
- Address any on-site challenges or disputes swiftly and effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all project activities, decisions, and modifications.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, ideally with a focus on water-related projects.
- A proven history of managing small to medium-sized construction initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices for operations near sensitive areas.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and relevant technologies.
- A valid driver's license and readiness to travel to various project sites as necessary.
Work Rotation:
The position entails an 8/6 rotation during the ramp-up and closing period, transitioning to a 12/9 rotation for the intervening months.
