Lead Water Resources Engineer

Your Contribution:
Crozier & Associates is seeking a skilled Intermediate to Senior Water Resources Engineer to enhance our dynamic team.
In this role, you will provide technical direction and specialized knowledge in the planning, design, and execution of water resource initiatives. You will work alongside a diverse group to create sustainable and innovative designs for multi-disciplinary projects, including hydraulic modeling for various sectors such as residential, commercial, and industrial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Managers to ascertain project needs and communicate these to internal design teams, which consist of engineers, CETs, EITs, and other technical experts.
- Develop project proposals, timelines, and specifications in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Create comprehensive water resource models, designs, and studies for a range of projects, including sub-watershed plans, functional servicing reports, floodplain evaluations, capacity assessments, erosion control, and stormwater management studies.
- Engage in various project teams to determine requirements, prepare and adjust plans/designs, technical reports, and submissions to facilitate projects through municipal and provincial approvals, aiding our clients in progressing projects toward completion.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
- Conduct reviews of designs and deliverables to ensure quality control.
- Support client relations and collaborate with professional colleagues and municipal/agency personnel to advance projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in water resources, ideally within a consulting engineering context.
- Proficient understanding of land development principles and municipal regulations in Ontario.
- In-depth knowledge of the requirements set forth by reviewing agencies such as Conservation Authorities and the Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC).
- Experience in stormwater management, modeling & design, and earthworks/servicing.
- Familiarity with modeling software such as HEC-RAS, Visual Otthymo, SWMHYMO, and PCSWMM.
- Experience in 1D and 2D floodplain modeling and hydraulic/hydrologic analysis.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple project timelines effectively.
