Position Summary
Hawkesbury General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist who excels in prioritizing tasks while demonstrating outstanding patient care and empathy. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant clinical setting that values compassion, innovation, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist, your primary focus will be on assessing adult patients, with occasional involvement in the stabilization of pediatric and neonatal cases. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Providing coaching and pulmonary education to empower patients in managing their conditions and enhancing their quality of life;
- Responding to cardiopulmonary emergencies to restore ventilation and circulation, and assisting in the transport of critically ill patients;
- Acting as an advisor for smoking cessation;
- Sharing your expertise with students and fellow staff members;
- Contributing to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness;
- Promoting overall health and wellness.
Position Details
This is a permanent part-time position at 0.45 ETP, offering 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, and weekend options.

Employment Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Hold a diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and possess a current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, free of any terms or limitations;
- Have relevant hospital experience;
- Demonstrate proficiency in critical care and pulmonary function testing;
- Maintain current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications; PALS certification is a plus;
- Exhibit effective communication skills in both French and English.
