Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, your primary focus will be on assessing adult patients, with occasional involvement in the stabilization of pediatric and neonatal cases. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Providing coaching and pulmonary education to empower patients in managing their conditions and enhancing their quality of life;
  • Responding to cardiopulmonary emergencies to restore ventilation and circulation, and assisting in the transport of critically ill patients;
  • Acting as an advisor for smoking cessation;
  • Sharing your expertise with students and fellow staff members;
  • Contributing to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness;
  • Promoting overall health and wellness.

Position Details

This is a permanent part-time position at 0.45 ETP, offering 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, and weekend options.

Employment Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Hold a diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and possess a current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, free of any terms or limitations;
  • Have relevant hospital experience;
  • Demonstrate proficiency in critical care and pulmonary function testing;
  • Maintain current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications; PALS certification is a plus;
  • Exhibit effective communication skills in both French and English.
