As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat adult patients with respiratory disorders, including cardiopulmonary crises and stabilization of pediatric and neonatal patients.
  • Provide coaching, pulmonary education, and rehabilitation to assist patients in managing their condition and improving their quality of life.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in the transport of ill and unstable patients.
  • Act as a smoking cessation advisor and share knowledge with students and staff.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and emergency preparedness.
  • Promote health and wellness initiatives within the hospital and community.

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
  • Relevant hospital experience, including critical care and pulmonary function testing.
  • Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and NRP, with PALS certification an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French and English.
