Medical Office Administrator Opportunity at MedSleep Inc.
We are a leading provider of sleep therapy services across Canada, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and building a great place to work, learn, and develop.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Office Administrator to join our growing team of health professionals. As a Medical Office Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinicians and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to our clinicians, including handling referrals, booking patient appointments, preparing patient charts, filing, and updating our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Patient Communication: Answer telephone inquiries from patients and others, screening calls to determine the nature and urgency of the inquiry, and schedule appointments as needed.
- Insurance and Billing: Assist patients with their insurance pre-authorizations and claim approvals, and ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Patient Data Management: Obtain patient medical histories and insurance information, update medical charts, and enter patient data into our EMR system.
- Staff Support: Provide day-to-day support to our other team members as required, including reviewing data on clinical activity and preparing associated reports.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and serviceability of equipment, arrange for maintenance and repair as needed, and ensure the professional appearance of our clinics.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by our management team.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1+ year of professional administrative experience is required.
- Experience in a healthcare setting or sleep therapy is considered an asset, but training is provided.
- Working knowledge of an EMR system is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand various processes in a changing environment.
- An assertive, professional, and friendly interpersonal style, with strong customer service values.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills, ability to work effectively under pressure, and meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, assess situations, and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Working Conditions: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Competitive hourly rate: $19-$22 per hour.
