Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our Care Coordinators, ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators, including processing new referrals, orders, and patient records.
  • Enter, update, and maintain patient data in our electronic database.
  • Answer telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, and refer callers as appropriate.
  • Provide back-up support to other positions as required.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal French is required.
  • A Grade 12 diploma (minimum) and 2+ years' related office experience.
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills and proficiency with database software, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and advanced multi-tasking skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills.
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of services provided by Ontario Health atHome.
