WSP Canada is seeking qualified professionals for the role of Senior Procurement Specialist, reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management. Key Responsibilities:
  • Thorough understanding of procurement processes and their alignment with client-specific project requirements.
  • Manage a variety of tasks with differing levels of urgency, including:
  • Development of project bidders lists.
  • Preparation of bid packages.
  • Issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Conducting bid openings and evaluations.
  • Negotiating terms and clarifications.
  • Issuing Purchase Orders (POs) or Purchase Requisitions (PReqs).
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Coordinating project purchasing needs with the Team Lead.
  • Working with expeditors and logistics coordinators to communicate any delays or scheduling conflicts.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including client procurement representatives and vendors, to ensure all procurement activities are addressed.
  • Proactively managing the PO change management process.
  • Finalizing POs once all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and communicating any conflicts to relevant parties.
  • Administering and distributing reports to clients and engineering teams.
  • Working collaboratively across all organizational levels.
  • Typically responsible for large, complex procurement packages and equipment.
  • May serve as Lead Buyer for major projects.
  • Providing mentorship to junior and intermediate buyers.
  • Resource planning, budget tracking, and labor hour estimation at the project level.
  • Ability to articulate and apply fundamental technical and business concepts.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Open to feedback and committed to personal development.
  • Building and maintaining WSP's brand and reputation internally and externally.
Qualifications:
  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in Energy, Resources, Power, and Industrial projects.
  • Experience in an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle-based Supply Chain Management software.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred.
