About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement activities within our organization.
Your role will be crucial in managing the procurement process for diverse projects, reporting directly to the Director of Procurement and Contracts. You will be tasked with sourcing, negotiating, and securing essential goods and services to ensure the successful delivery of our projects. Your primary focus will be on achieving cost efficiency, timely procurement, and high-quality solutions that align with project goals and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Procurement Strategy:
Formulate and execute procurement strategies tailored to each project's unique requirements. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align procurement plans with project needs. - Vendor Management:
Identify and assess potential vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and diverse network. - Bid Evaluation and Negotiation:
Review and assess bids and proposals from vendors. Lead negotiations to secure advantageous terms, competitive pricing, and sustainable agreements that maximize organizational value. - Contract Management:
Draft, review, and finalize contracts and purchase orders. Ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards while mitigating procurement-related risks. - Cost Control:
Monitor project budgets and procurement-related expenses. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or timelines. - Risk Assessment:
Evaluate and address potential procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and vendor reliability. - Supplier Performance Monitoring:
Track vendor and supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively address any issues to maintain project quality and momentum. - Compliance and Regulations:
Stay informed about relevant procurement laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements. - Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain thorough records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor performance. Prepare reports and updates for project managers and senior leadership as needed. - Continuous Improvement:
Regularly assess and enhance procurement processes, systems, and procedures to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
Your Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in procurement and supply chain are advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project procurement or supply chain management is preferred, with a solid understanding of procurement principles and contract management. - Communication Skills:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. - Core Competencies:
Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. An analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. - HSSEQ Compliance:
