About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement processes within our organization.
In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the procurement lifecycle for various projects, reporting directly to the Director of Procurement and Contracts.
Your key responsibilities will include sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring essential goods and services to ensure the successful delivery of our projects. Your focus will be on achieving cost efficiency, timely procurement, and high-quality solutions that align with project goals and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy Development:
Create and implement tailored procurement strategies for each project, collaborating with project managers to align procurement efforts with project needs. - Vendor Relations:
Identify and assess potential vendors and suppliers, fostering strong relationships to maintain a reliable network. - Bid Assessment and Negotiation:
Evaluate vendor proposals and lead negotiations to secure advantageous terms and pricing. - Contract Oversight:
Draft and manage contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with legal standards and minimizing procurement risks. - Budget Management:
Monitor procurement-related expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and timelines. - Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions and vendor reliability. - Supplier Performance Evaluation:
Continuously assess vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any issues promptly. - Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about procurement laws and best practices, ensuring adherence to company policies. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of procurement activities and generate reports for management as needed. - Process Improvement:
Regularly review and enhance procurement processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in procurement are advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project procurement or supply chain management is preferred. - Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. - Core Competencies:
