Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of procurement processes and their alignment with client-specific and project requirements.
  • Manage a variety of tasks with differing priorities, including:
  • Creating project bidders lists.
  • Preparing bid packages.
  • Issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Conducting bid openings and evaluations.
  • Facilitating negotiations and clarifications.
  • Issuing Purchase Orders (POs) or Purchase Requisitions (PReqs).
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Coordinating project purchasing needs with the Team Lead.
  • Working with expeditors and logistics coordinators to communicate any delays or scheduling conflicts.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including client procurement representatives and vendors, to ensure all procurement activities are addressed.
  • Proactively manage the PO change management process.
  • Finalize POs once all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Maintain deadlines and ensure effective communication regarding any scheduling conflicts.
  • Administer and distribute relevant reports to clients and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate across all organizational levels effectively.
  • Handle large, complex procurement packages and fabricated equipment.
  • May serve as Lead Buyer for major projects.
  • Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate buyers.
  • Engage in resource planning, budget tracking, and change management due to scope alterations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibit superior organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Embrace feedback and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Uphold and enhance WSP's brand and reputation.
Qualifications:
  • A degree, diploma, or certification in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in Energy, Resources, Power, and Industrial projects.
  • Experience in an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle-based Supply Chain Management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
