Job Title: Category Manager - Procurement Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Category Manager to support our Finance & Accounting department. This is a 12-month contract/acting opportunity that will report to the Manager, Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement strategies to assigned divisional categories, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Assess vendor requirements, identify new service providers, and manage the supplier base for internal client groups.
  • Negotiations and Contract Management: Lead negotiations with external vendors, monitor and control contracts, and resolve ongoing issues.
  • Procurement Policies and Procedures: Establish and implement procurement policies, procedures, and processes that ensure organizational compliance and effectively manage internal stakeholder needs.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Provide best-in-class advisory services to all levels of the organization, including Executives.
  • Procure to Pay Module: Liaise with key team members as the SME on purchasing and requisitioner requirements.
  • Spending and Budget Analysis: Conduct analysis on spending and budget data, present findings, and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Vendor Performance Evaluation: Develop and lead the process for periodic evaluation of supplier performance and/or vendor reviews as needed.
  • Enterprise-Wide Vendor Management Strategy: Help lead the development of an enterprise-wide vendor management strategy involving the evaluation, selection, and onboarding of strategic vendors.
  • Standardized Vendor Key Performance Measures: Assist in the design and implementation of standardized TCI vendor key performance measures, score-carding, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), risk indicators, and outcome targets.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Category and Contract Management; Vendor management experience is preferred.
  • Procurement ERP Systems: 3+ years of experience with procurement ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Internal and External Stakeholder Management: Experience working with internal and external parties to identify business requirements, design and implement business solutions, monitor vendor performance, and/or resolve issues with diplomacy.
  • Contract Management Principles: Understanding of Contract Management principles.
  • Finance and Accounting: Understanding of Finance; Awareness of accounting principles is an asset.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Knowledge of financial systems, processes, and internal controls over financial information.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Program Management Skills: Advanced program management skills, ability to lead sourcing events, influence key decision-makers, and build successful partnerships with internal business units.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to influence outcomes.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic/critical thinking, advanced problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Prioritization and Time Management: Ability to effectively manage and execute priorities.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels, including an executive audience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio).
