**Job Purpose & Description**:

**Duties**
- Communicate and meet with clients to discuss their financial administration needs
- Processing high volume of transactions
- Processing high volume of employee expense claims
- Ledger reconciliation and maintenance
- Be available longer hours during March and April due to income tax season.
- Bookkeeping procedures including quickbooks income and expenses entries
- Other duties assigned by Senior Bookkeeper or Controller
- Organize and compile client data from source documents
- Organize and enter invoices, receipts and reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare government remittances (Payroll, WSIB and HST, etc.)
- Issue pay stubs, T4s and prepare T1s (Personal Tax Returns)
- Prepare working paper files and T2 corporate tax forms
- Communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency on behalf of the accountant and clients

**Skills/Qualifications**:

- 2 year of accounting and bookkeeping experience in an Accounting Firm
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Proficiency in Quick Books, Simply Accounting, Profile software is preferred
- Knowledge and experience of personal tax preparation is required
- Fluent written and spoken English and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
- Experience in an accounting firm is an asset
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and understand the importance of confidentiality
- Ability to easily shift focus depending on client needs
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with special attention to detail

Senior assistant: $18/hr

Junior assistant: $15/hr

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
