We are in business of both logistics and IT industry, who’s providing logistics software and services to a wide range of B2B sectors under the same umbrella.
**Scope of Service**
- The Proposal Writer will lead and coordinate in developing complex proposals to funding procurement predominantly from the Province of BC and the Government of Canada but also from larger grantors. The proposal writer should be capable of producing proposal responses while managing multiple concurrent submissions.
- As a key part of the business development team, you will work in a high-impact, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and work collaboratively across many departments within the organization. The ideal proponent will possess excellent communication skills; outstanding time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The proponent will be responsible to provide all direction in their role as project manager in an environment where priorities can change rapidly; and must demonstrate attention to detail with the ability to be thorough and complete.
- The Proposal Writer will manage the organization response process and resources and also highlight potential opportunities to the leadership team through active scanning of the funding landscape. This position will directly report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the leadership team to craft winning proposals.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities
- Prepare and write grant proposals, including budgets and supporting documents
- Collaborate with program managers and other staff to gather information for proposals
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements
- Track and report on the progress of funded grants
- Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of all grants, submissions, and outcomes
- Collaborate with finance department to ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Phone answering service support as needed.
- General filing and organizing of files/records retention; Data entry/formatting.
- General office maintenance support as required.
- Assist with new hire orientation, interview, employee setup, and offboarding.
- Invoicing for customers; AR and AP follow-up.
- Assist with bookkeeping on QuickBooks.
- Basic accounting assistance.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning processes.
**Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of successful proposal writing experience, with preference given to larger proposals with a scope of $100 k+ from Canadian federal departments such as : Immigration, Women And Gender Equality; BDC, banks, etc. as well as BC Provincial ministries such as: Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation; Government of Canada and Skills Future, WorkSafe BC, etc.
- 3+ years experience working with QuickBooks, invoicing and basic accounting matters.
- MBA bachelor degree or accounting bachelor degree or related degrees.
- Demonstrable experience in producing innovative proposals that highlight differentiators for our organization.
- Project management certification or similar discipline.
- Technical skills to support proposal writing and presentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Visio or other diagramming software is a plus
- Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of grant writing best practices and funding sources
