Red Dog Blue Kat (RDBK) is a North American leader in fresh, frozen raw pet food products. Based out of our Port Coquitlam, BC location, we have been providing class leading pet food to ensure your pet lives a longer and healthier life.

Our company is looking for a customer-service-oriented professional to join our Sales and Marketing Team. The primary purpose of the Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) is to support our philosophy of being a supplier of choice and to grow our business within Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes). This will be accomplished by establishing strategic relationships with key accounts, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to promote our products and services.

**Key duties **include
- Developing and implementing effective strategic sales plans/targets that follow the company’s strategic goals.
- Fostering positive relationships with clients (independents, corporate stores, franchisees, and head offices) and ensuring their satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
- Following up weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and communicating them to the sales support team and focused retailors.
- Identifying the needs and expectations of clients to improve the sales and marketing process.
- Researching and developing sales opportunities and programs, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company's sales goals while maintaining RDBK brand’s integrity.
- Planning /implementing meetings with the retailors to discuss sales performance/assessment of existing brands and new marketing program rollouts.
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and managing the promotional support teams to meet sales and marketing, and possibly human resource objectives as well.
- Negotiate and close onboarding agreements with store managers and franchisee owners.
- Representing the company at various trade shows, meetings, associations, and other events to promote our programs, products, and services.
- Execute RDBK training modules, educational materials, tutorials, training seminars, and learning resources.
- Being able to identify gaps and developing tools to ensuring training efficiency and return on investment, creating the “Supper Fans” that translates into sales.

**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Communication**:In their work, BDM’s have to communicate with lots of people. This includes internal staff, retail partners, and RDBK customers too. Therefore, every good BDM must demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills. People in this role must be able to communicate their ideas efficiently and be excellent negotiators/supporters as well.

**Leadership**:The core task of every BDM is to be an intricate part of the sales/marketing teams. A person in this role must be able to foster positive relationships inside teams, align the goals/efforts of all staff members, and motivate our retailers to attain set sales goals. To do this, every good BDM must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. They must be natural-born leaders who can win the retail team's loyalty and make everyone follow their lead.

**Stress Management**:Having to deal with tons of different sales and marketing operations at once, strategies, targets, sales reports, and other related challenges can be pretty stressful. Therefore, a good BDM must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and resist stress.

**Problem-Solving**:Often, BDM’s will face various problems when developing sales strategies, setting goals, and finding areas for improvement. So, being able to find quick and effective solutions is another quality that every BDM must possess. They must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.

**Creative Thinking**:Apart from solving issues quickly and efficiently, a BDM also needs to approach them creatively. Being able to think outside the box will also help them identify new business opportunities and improve sales. So, it is another must-have trait.

**An Eye for Detail**:Finally, there is one more personality trait that every person in this role should possess. In order to streamline the sale process, measure retailer’s performance, put together business reviews, merchandising and identify new opportunities, a BDM must have an exceptional eye for detail and a strong understanding of brand integrity

**Additional Eligibility Qualifications**:

- Technology-savvy including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and other communication tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum ten years of work experience in customer service, sales, retail training or related field is required.
- Experience in the pet industry and/or health industry a plus.
