Two Administrative Full-time New Positions

Reporting to the Director, Custom Training Solutions, the Business & Partnership Development Consultant plays a revenue generating role in forging sustainable training partnerships with key stakeholders, internal and external to the College, to support the Custom Training Solutions department’s business goals. Working collaboratively, the Business & Partnership Development Consultant builds the training activity pipeline to optimize training funding/revenue opportunities, including fee-for-service and specialized training delivery opportunities, that align with the College’s goals to support various industries and sectors with training and developing the workforce.

**Responsibilities**:

- In collaboration with the Director, Custom Training Solutions and Director, Research Engagement, implements a strategic plan and operational process for engaging with local and regional industry partners
- Guided by the above engagement process, identifies prospective industry, community, and government partners with innovation needs that align with the capabilities of the Custom Training Solutions department; develops and qualifies those leads, and cultivates and maintains relationships with appropriate stakeholders within these organizations
- Develops an understanding of innovative training solutions and programs and their respective partners internally and externally to the College
- Collaborates with Custom Training Solutions management to design a training solution to meet the stakeholder’s needs
- Accountable for achieving revenue/fee-for-service targets
- Monitors trends and opportunities with industry and community partners to identify innovative training interests and needs
- Provides outreach to local and regional industry through events and speaking engagements
- Participates in virtual and in-person events, tradeshows, conferences, and meetings of strategic importance to the Custom Training Solutions department in order to network with potential partners and represent the business interests of the College
- Works collaboratively with the Director, Custom Training Solutions and other internal stakeholders to develop/maintain marketing materials, website content, and social media channels in accordance with Conestoga practices and policies
- Establishes and maintains a strong referral network within the regional business and industry innovation systems
- Gathers project requirements from potential partners including understanding their business, and budget constraints; develops and prepares Custom Training Solutions proposals including project brief and budget to present to partner; negotiates contract training terms on behalf of the Director, Custom Training Solutions
- Works collaboratively with partners, Custom Training Solutions management and staff to support the project plan, and introduces industry partners to appropriate colleagues within the project team to initiate the implementation of the training solution
- Works with academic and other staff consistent with college policies and procedures, and relevant collective agreements or conditions of employment and ensures that new projects developed also align with college policies and collective agreements
- Supports the development and writing of innovative training work plans and budgets and schedules new projects, including ensuring all project documentation and communication is properly organized and filed
- Works collaboratively with the operations teams to support reporting and ensuring metrics are captured accurately
- Communicates with Conestoga Training managers and industry partners regarding project status and progress
- In collaboration with Training managers, follows up with clients/partners throughout project and at completion to assess future need for college services
- Reviews client feedback and identifies opportunities for future work
- Keeps accurate and up to date records of all contacts and relevant details in a customer relationship management (CRM) system

**Qualifications**:

- Three-year Diploma or Degree in Business or a related field of study
- Minimum five years of in-depth practical work experience involving sales and/or business development, including building industry partnerships
- Experience with corporate training project management is an asset
- Experience in a post-secondary education institution, preferably a college, is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong formal and informal profession
