**The Opportunity**:
NorthStar Industries is a leading provider of high-quality industrial products, including Strut, Metal Framing, Interlock Grating, Telespar, Roofing Supports, Flow Cells and Workstations. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients or partners, and driving growth.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:
Creating long term partnerships with customers and suppliers to build our Canadian Industrial Products Distribution Business. As the face of our Sales efforts for this division you will be performing discovery calls and visits with prospective customers including Plant Maintenance Managers, Engineering and Management Personal as well as Industrial Manufacturing Companies. You will promote the use of our product offerings in metal framing, Interlock Grating, Telespar, Roofing Supports and our other NorthStar Industries products such as Flow Cells and Workstations. With the support of our team, you will effectively demonstrate product fit through presentations, demos and creation of project specific solutions.

**Specific Tasks**
- Manage a portfolio of customers, in a designated area, to execute sales plan
- Systematically screen customer base for new opportunities, generates leads and maintains pipeline
- Identify, plan and develop new customers in line with business development plans/targets
- Promotes the positive company image and develops long-term relations with the customers
- Provide appropriate and agreed levels of contact, service and support to ensure sales targets are met
- Monitor sales against agreed targets on a regular basis to ensure they are met and where necessary the need for remedial actions is identified, reported and implemented
- Plans own visit schedule in line with agreed customer service levels and new customer acquisition
- Collects, reports and analyzes the customer feedback / information on present as well as future market trends in the context of possible further market penetration
- Plans, executes and reports on the sales activities in the assigned sales area
- Delivers periodical progress reports and proactively submits recommendations regarding the improvements in the approach to the marketplace
- Cooperates with the other departments in the implementation of sales and service solutions
- Proactively supports the maintenance and implementation of required sales support level (including marketing, technical, logistics and control) and cooperates in and coordinates the implementation of the defined activity
- Systematically up-dates CRM with valid, accurate and complete customer-related information
- Has expert knowledge on the features and benefits of available products/services
- Monitors and reports on the status of formal customer complaint procedure handling
- Gets familiar with all applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all regulations

**What You’ll Need to be Successful**:

- Proven sales experience in the Industrial market
- Hunter mentality with an entrepreneurial mindset
- The ability to thrive in a Teamwork Culture
- Post-Secondary Education with a diploma or degree in related field
- Experience with Customer Relation Management Software
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Self-motivated
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 40%
