We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Mississauga, ON. This role will focus on driving sales, acquiring new clients, and expanding our market presence in Ontario.
**Job Summary**
**Business Development Managers** at ICC The Compliance Center are responsible for driving sales and maximizing profitability within their assigned territory. Using a consultative sales approach, they maintain regular face-to-face and/or phone interactions to ensure customer needs are met and satisfaction is achieved. Their role involves identifying new sales opportunities and acting decisively to capitalize on those that offer the greatest potential for growth and profitability. This includes cross-selling and expanding product ranges with existing customers, as well as pursuing new business leads. Business Development Managers are expected to uphold ICC’s core values and prioritize customer excellence in all aspects of their daily work.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- N**ew Business Development**: Identify, target, and acquire new business opportunities in sectors such as chemical manufacturing, chemical distribution, oil and gas, general manufacturing, and agricultural chemicals.
- **Customer Retention & Growth**: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients by understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions, with a focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- **Sales Strategy**: Develop and execute a business development strategy aimed at increasing market share, achieving sales targets, and maximizing revenue growth.
- **Market Research & Analysis**: Conduct market research to identify new trends, business opportunities, and emerging markets for ICC’s products and services.
- **Lead Generation**: Proactively generate and qualify leads through various channels, including networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- **Collaboration with Sales Team**: Work closely with the Canadian and US sales teams to coordinate efforts, share insights, and drive collective success across both regions.
- **Proposal Development**: Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and product solutions to prospective clients, ensuring alignment with client needs and regulatory requirements.
- **Client Education**: Provide clients with detailed information on ICC’s regulatory updates, compliance solutions, and best practices in handling hazardous materials and safety requirements.
- **Contract Negotiation**: Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
- **Reporting & Analysis**: Record all sales activity in CRM. Track sales performance, prepare reports, and present insights to the leadership team, using data to inform strategy and decision-making.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in regulatory compliance, packaging, or industrial sectors.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to hazardous materials, packaging, and workplace safety.
- **Sales Skills**: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- **Communication**: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
- **Proactive Approach**: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative in developing new business opportunities.
- **Collaboration**: A team player who thrives in a cross-functional environment, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with LinkedIn and AdWords for marketing and sales campaigns.
**Working Conditions**
- Must have reliable means of transportation as travel is required
- Credit card or other means to support travel expenses
- Hybrid Office/Home Based Role
