**JOB TITLE**:
Information Resources Assistant - Library Technology Specialist - Job Reference #202408-03

**DESCRIPTION**:

- Oversee the library’s digital content platforms, including e-books, e-journals and databases.
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of new library technologies and digital tools.
- Receive and fulfill all ATP requests for accessible academic resources in support of the ACDS office.
- Manage and optimize data workflows for digital collections and usage statistics.
- Lead and participate in technology/ digital projects from initial planning though implementation and evaluation.
- Work in collaboration with ITS cybersecurity and privacy officer, to the security and privacy of library systems and data in compliance with university policies and relevant regulations.
- Work with library staff to integrate technology into library instruction and research support services.
- Other duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (unless identified as preferred)**:

- Library Technician’s Diploma or Computer Science (related) Diploma
- 3 years of progressively more responsible appointments
- Previous experience working in a library setting, particularly in a technology-focused role, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Integrated Library Systems (ILS), library management software, digital repository systems, and other library technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of database management, SQL, and data analytics.
- Skills in web development and maintenance, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems.
- Understanding of network management, cybersecurity principles, and best practices for protecting digital assets.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Java, or others relevant to library technology.
- Strong decision-making abilities, using a high level of critical, analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Working knowledge of electronic resources, such as e-journals, databases and e-books, is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required, including the ability to communicate and interpret library policy and procedure in dealing with other library staff, faculty, patrons, and student employees.
- Attention to detail, organized and accurate in daily tasks.
- Able to work independently and cooperatively, in an open and dynamic work environment.

**TYPE OF JOB**:
Permanent Full-Time - 35 hours per week

**EFFECTIVE DATE**:
As soon as possible

**SALARY RANGE**:
SSG 9 - $55,195 to $67,248 per annum, dependent on experience
