**DESCRIPTION**:
The Information Services Assistant (Educational Resources & User Services) is responsible for the management of the Reserves and Open Educational Resources programs, as well as the provision of accessible and patron centric user services. The incumbent is the direct supervisor of the Student Library Assistant team, providing training and ongoing support in all aspect of user services, as well as daily management of this large and diverse team, including providing evening and weekend assistance. Utilizing expert knowledge of circulation functions, the incumbent delivers user-centered service to the students, faculty and staff of King's University College, Western and affiliate users, and users from our Collaborative Futures consortia located across Ontario. The Information Services Assistant (Educational Resources & User Services) develops and maintains strong relationships with partners across campus, including faculty members, departmental administrative assistants, Research Office colleagues, and our partners at Western Libraries and the Affiliates, to ensure the optimal functioning of vital library programs.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (unless identified as preferred)**:

- Minimum of a Library Technician’s Diploma. A Bachelor's degree in a Liberal Arts discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated skill in the coaching of student employees.
- Experience with Ex Libris Alma Library Services platform is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required, including the ability to communicate and interpret library policy and procedure in dealing with library patrons and student employees.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of the organization of libraries (Library of Congress classification) and the ability to identify and distinguish publication formats and editions.
- Knowledge of Canadian Copyright legislation is an asset.
- Time management and organizational skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments are necessary.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively, in an open and dynamic work environment is essential.
- Prioritizing tasks to achieve an even workflow, meet project deadlines and departmental goals is essential.
- Superb analytical and numeracy skills and experience in cash handling procedures are essential.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required.

**TYPE OF JOB**:
Full-Time Contract - 35 hours per week until May 29, 2026

**EFFECTIVE DATE**:
Monday, January 6, 2025

**SALARY RANGE**:
SSG 10 - $57,388- $69,921, per annum, dependent on experience
