**What you’ll do**:
It’s an exciting time to join our growing Brand Strategy team. Not only are we advancing a bold strategic plan, we are also striving to unleash our story in new and innovative ways using our new brand platform: _Small is Mighty_.

As a Communications Coordinator, you’re not just helping us tell our story—you’re building a connection that inspires others to join us on our journey. Working alongside our passionate Marketing & Communications team, you’ll coordinate impactful campaigns, engage with patient families, and support our mission through strategic, heart-filled storytelling. This role offers a chance to grow with a team in an exciting phase of transformation, where every contribution helps bring our Small is Mighty platform to life and creates lasting impact for BC Children’s Hospital.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

- **Communications Support**: Oversee and coordinate campaigns from start to finish, aligning projects with our vision and goals while collaborating across Foundation teams to ensure cohesive messaging. Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Specialist to source impactful stories for PR and media, track initiative effectiveness, and provide insights for future enhancements.
- **Content Creation & Storytelling**:Craft inspiring content across platforms that amplifies the voices of patients, families, and healthcare teams, collaborating with the Marketing & Communications Specialist to turn impactful moments into resonant stories, while ensuring messaging is consistent with our brand and full of heart.
- **Social Media Operations**:Collaborate with our Social Media Consultant to bring our story to life on social platforms by identifying compelling stories, developing posts, tracking engagement, and staying ahead of trends to create genuine connections and enhance our online presence. When needed, you may be required to support with social media channel management, posts and audience engagement.
- **Patient Family Liaison**: Establish and maintain valuable connections with patient families by coordinating their involvement in events and campaigns, managing the patient family database, streamlining communications, guiding content approvals, and ensuring consistency in messaging to honor their experiences and uphold the Foundation’s brand.
- **Partner & Team Collaboration**:Collaborate across the Foundation, supporting teams from donor relations to philanthropy to ensure aligned goals and messaging, while providing vital support for the patient family portfolio to uphold community trust and integrity.

In addition, you will bring:

- A certificate, diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Fundraising Management, Non-profit Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in communications or marketing within an in-house or agency setting.
- Strategic thinking with a keen eye for aligning your work to the Foundation’s brand and mission.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for building genuine connections.
- A collaborative spirit that empowers you to work effectively with Foundation team members and stakeholders.
- Discretion and care in handling sensitive information, ensuring trust and transparency in all interactions.
- A proactive approach, taking initiative and seeking solutions with a positive, can-do attitude.
- A desire to learn and grow continuously, welcoming feedback and collaboration as opportunities for improvement.
