Edmonton, Canada QM Environmental Full time

QM Environmental is looking for a HR Business Partner on a permanent, full time basis out of our Edmonton, AB office. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager you will be responsible for the management of HR activities and providing support to individuals nationally. As this role will primarily provide support across western Canada, remote work opportunities are available.

Working as part of the HR team, you will be accountable for the coordination of various human resource services including: full cycle recruitment, benefits and system administration, employee life cycle maintenance, employee relations, reporting and legal requirements, HR initiatives and projects. You will provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with all departments and external partners, developing and cultivating strong working relationships to support a high performance culture.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process.
- Support recruitment by identifying the hiring needs and its gap to meet the business changing needs.
- Stay up-to-date with all employment legislation and regulations in Canada
- Answer questions from employees, and resolve complaints/incidents when needed.
- Prepare employment letters and other correspondence as required.
- Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations.
- Benefits Administration: Health & Dental, GRRSP etc.
- Provide support, guidance and training to managers on hiring, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.
- Systems Administration: hiring employees in MS Dynamics NAV; payroll set-up, updates, changes in Clarity. Migration to UKG / Kronos currently in process.
- Ensuring accurate management of personnel files and timely delivery of HR projects.
- Assist with requirements for company security requirements, E-Rail Certification status and BNSF Contractor, etc.
- Supporting the implementation of new HR processes and procedures

**Qualifications Include**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate in Human Resources Management required.
- UKG / Kronos experience
- Expert level Excel skills
- CHRP designation considered an asset
- Highly organized problem-solver with a track record of innovative thinking
- Strong initiative and focus on providing an excellent customer experience
- Subject matter expert of Human Resource best practices
- Proven ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of payroll processing is an asset
- Able to travel to client sites on occasion for training / onboarding
