**Salary**: $3,147.32 to $ 4,235.37 bi-weekly ($82,145- $110,543 /year)

The Financial and Administrative Shared Services Division in Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is responsible for the province-wide administration of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act). In addition, the division delivers the FOIP program for all Government of Alberta departments, and some of their agencies, boards, and commissions.

**The responsibilities for this position include but not limited to**:

- Provide leadership and management to a team of professional and administrative staff in the delivery of services for the Branch and assigned public bodies to ensure compliance with the FOIP Act.
- Coaching and development of staff.
- Provide leadership and expertise on legislated considerations on the disclosure of information to all staff within FOIP Operations.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership regarding the ability to withhold any sensitive information for disclosure, while maintaining compliance with the FOIP Act.

The incumbent is expected to have:

- The ability to manage high volume of work with a small margin of error.
- Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities.
- The ability to lead and manage change and negotiate innovative solutions to complex and diverse issues.
- Experience managing staff dealing with highly confidential information.
- Exceptional verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills
- Experience providing presentations and training.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a field related to the position assignment (for example Arts, Business or Public Administration or any other related field), supplemented by four years of related experience or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency:

- A related two-year diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; a related one-year certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; or a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience. **Or,**
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

- FOIP legislation, publication and guidelines.
- Alberta Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) Orders and Investigation Reports, Court Decisions related to FOIP.

- Technical aptitude and ability to learn and adapt to new technology.

There is one full-time position available, located in the 10405 Jasper Building, Edmonton, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
