**Department summary**

The University of Alberta is home to North America’s only freestanding Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. We provide academic training in rehabilitation science, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology. Our researchers lead their field in areas such as spinal cord injury, mental health, robotics, language development, and the impacts of COVID-19.

The Physical Therapy Department has an overarching focus of creating a diverse and inclusive environment, elevate the Department (and the profession) through 4 Strategic Themes: develop and strengthen teaching, foster partnerships, enhance research and knowledge translation/implementation.

The Research Coordinator position will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator to perform a variety of activities to coordinate the day-to-day operation of the research study. **This position includes** **varying part-time and full-time hours over the term of the position. **The Research Coordinator position will assist qualitative research data and collection for the **A**lberta's **R**emote **M**anagement of **S**ho**U**lders **P**rogram (ARMS UP) study protocol under the direction of academic and clinical qualitative study leads. This is a new position that is required to complete the specified study evaluation.

**Duties**
- Administrative Responsibilities:

- Assist development, submission and maintenance of ethics submissions/approvals
- Assist development and revision of qualitative interview guides
- Assist development of case report forms/questionnaires/surveys
- Data Collection Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment of research participants (patients and health care providers)
- Obtain informed consent for participation in semi-structured interviews and focus groups
- Collect data through administration of interviews, surveys and questionnaires under the direction of the academic and clinical study leads
- Data Coordination Activities
- Work with qualitative and quantitative research team to ensure completion and coordination of data collected
- Maintain study records (paper and e-files) in accordance with FOIP and the Health Information Act
- Assist the qualitative and quantitative research team to ensure data collection is done in a timely and complete manner
