Culture - To protect the brand company wide, both internal & external, along with harnessing the company culture._** Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration, and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm, and other disasters. The Paul Davis Network is made up of more than 380 franchises across the US and Canada. Since 1966, we have helped more than 2 million property owners restore their properties and lives. Our passion for quality and our commitment to our vision, mission, and values aligns our entire organization behind one common direction and one set of core operating principles. The promise of our Brand - to always deliver truth - is what we stake our reputation on and what those who engage with our company can and should expect from us. As an essential, emergency-based business, there is often tension around making things happen according to a set of performance criteria imposed on those in our industry by our clients and customers. Experience tells that trying to work in an unorganized office can trigger a significant amount of stress and cause us to waste a lot of time and energy on petty things. Delivering extraordinary care while serving people in their time of need requires that we all stay focused on what is most important. The role of the
**Office/Culture Manager** is critical to our productivity. Maintaining a well-organized workplace will not only increase our employees’ creativity, but it will ensure our office environment remains a serene, yet efficient workspace. Several basic elements to keep in mind as you consider the role are summarized as follows:
- As an **Office/Culture Manager** for Paul Davis Ottawa, you will oftentimes find yourself in the middle of many issues, both personal as well as professional that arise in our busy company. At times, it will feel that you are the lightning rod for many employee interactions, required to wear the hat of a guidance counselor, organizer, tutor/teacher, mentor, coach/referee, and on the rare occasion, ‘dictator’.
- This role is one of the most critical for us because it has the potential to touch almost every aspect of our business. Based on the potential interactions, there will be much opportunity to determine the tone and culture of our organization in this position alone.
- To be successful in this role, it will be necessary to hold a steady hand over your ‘domain’, align firmly with the executive management team, yet remain approachable to hear the ideas and suggestions of any one of our employees.
- You will be called upon to demonstrate your knack for collecting information, building creative solutions, offering workable action plans, and adding additional components that build upon our awesome culture.
**Success in this role requires that you**:
- Understand that this is a management position, and thus requires the **Office/Culture Manager** to take a company position on all matters related to employees & subcontractors. In this role there will be an opportunity to influence policy change, alter corporate behavior, and drive an executive decision should a situation require it.
- Become a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Handle tasks related to office and inter-office communications, office space set up, human resource support, computer, and phone system set-up, working with IT companies to resolve internal issues, business operations, and administrative matters.
- Establish a connection with our entire workforce and collect feedback - using the info to assess our culture/employee engagement. With that information, work within our Leadership Team to address current issues and avoid future risks.
- Have basic knowledge of Human Resources staying on top of laws, regulations, safety, and/or industry stipulations, and being part of the recruiting, onboarding, and training of new employees.
- Have it in your nature to stay focused on the big picture and understand that it is in ‘delivering extraordinary care’ to our workforce that our company will have the opportunity to grow our market share and extend our goodwill.
- Understand that achieving your goals is based on key elements such as trust and integrity and building thriving relationships with our employees and our sub-trades.
- Are never satisfied with the status quo and you are always intent on practicing continuous improvement - looking for those opportunities to improve results and seek additional, creative solutions.
- Take pride in everything that you do that has your name associated with it.
