**Description**

The **Haskayne School of Business** is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term **Project Coordinator, Research**for approximately 24 months.

The Project Coordinator Research (the Project Coordinator) at the Haskayne School of Business (the school) is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the school's research profile through strategic initiatives, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, Research and Faculty (the SADRF), the Project Coordinator will independently lead key outward-facing research initiatives, including working alongside the school's Events Manager on the planning and execution of signature events such as the Haskayne Business Exchange and other research-focused outreach efforts funded by the SADRF office.

The role operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and varying degrees of complexity, from routine tasks to high-profile research events. It requires a high degree of independence, with the incumbent responsible for problem-solving, budget management, and ensuring the timely execution of all assigned projects. The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively across diverse teams while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.

This position demands expertise in research and technical writing, enabling the Project Coordinator to contribute meaningfully to outreach documents and communication materials. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including the school's senior leadership, faculty and staff, along with UCalgary colleagues, industry partners, and community organizations.

The work will occasionally require availability outside regular hours to support after-hours events or deadlines. The incumbent must demonstrate resilience and adaptability under pressure, navigating interruptions, competing demands, and high-traffic situations while ensuring the highest quality in deliverables.

This 2 year Limited Term Project Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean, Research & Faculty at the Haskayne School of Business. This position works primarily in-office, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (35 hours per week); however, due to constantly shifting priorities, flexibility is essential, including some evening and weekend hours.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Plan and manage all aspects of assigned research initiatives within the thought leadership strategy, including working alongside colleagues on signature events like the Haskayne Business Exchange
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, development, finance) to ensure seamless execution of events and projects
- Engage and liaise with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment
- Oversee logistics for additional events, including venue selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management
- Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and adherence to guidelines
- Track project deliverables, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outcomes
- Develop and present evaluation reports, incorporating feedback to enhance future initiatives
- Contribute to the development of a thought leadership strategy aligned with the Haskayne School of Business's mission and strategic priorities
- Work alongside the school's marketing team to identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen the school's research profile through partnerships and community engagement
- Establish clear goals and success metrics for initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- A bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in project coordination, particularly in research outreach, event management, or stakeholder engagement
- Familiarity with academic research environments and the ability to navigate institutional settings effectively
- Experience planning and executing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including logistics, vendor negotiations, and contract execution
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical writing and report preparation
- Ability to collaborate across teams, engage diverse stakeholders, and lead initiatives independently
- Competency in data collection, measurement, and reporting to evaluate project success
- Proficiency in tools and platforms relevant to event coordination and project management
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to a dynamic work environment
- A proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and a commitment to excellence
