**Description**

This position works closely with the Principal Investigator in the areas of project conduct, analytics and reporting as well as, in the development of documents and proposals for the purpose of presentations and publication. This position is a Part-time, casual position in the Addictive Behaviours Lab, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts. Reports to David Hodgins (project holder, principal investigator). This position works up to 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday, but on occasion, there may be the need to work outside of regular hours.

This research program is part of the Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Misuse-Opioid Emerging Health Threat project on treatment of opioid use disorder in addiction programs. The Research Coordinator's primary purpose is to support the Principal Investigator and the research team through the coordination and administration of related projects.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- The coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of the research program.
- In coordination with the principal investigator, develops the structure, objectives, and policies of the research program and coordinates project resources.
- Responsible for coordinating research staff and volunteers including delegation of tasks and duties.
- Provides basic research support, produces reports, and conducts statistical analyses.
- Is responsible for obtaining and renewing ethics and operational approval, organizing meetings and collaborating with different community resources involved in supporting the research program.
- These roles may be called upon to act as a liaison for the Principal Investigator and the Research Project.
- The Research Coordinator will develop project timelines, monitor project deadlines and outcomes, and be responsible for project closeout processes.
- These roles may provide guidance and direction to administrative and research staff, supporting collaboration with other related research projects, and ensuring that resources, such as specialized equipment, workspaces, and supplies are maintained and readily available.
- Success in the role will require judgment and decision making, following procedures and guidelines set by the PI, and collaboration with the research team.
- Make recommendations to PI and Project PI on development of policies and procedures.
- Proactively anticipates problems and develops preventative solutions; helps to establish quality performance standards.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Degree in psychology, public health or health science required.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience in a research focused environment.
- A combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Ability to plan and direct research within a team environment.
- Advanced skill in survey design and analyses, including statistical software.
- Knowledge of research ethics and regulations for granting agencies.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing reports.
