**Description**

The British Columbia (BC) Farmers¿ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP) is a healthy eating initiative funded by the BC Ministry of Health. The program provides low-income adults with $27/week in coupons to purchase healthy foods at farmers¿ markets, and supportive nutrition skill-building activities. This randomized, controlled trial will examine the impact of the FMNCP on the diet quality (primary outcome), other dietary outcomes, food insecurity, self-reported health-related outcomes and objective health markers of 380 parent-child dyads with low incomes. Outcomes will be compared midway through (13 weeks) and at the end of the intervention period (26 weeks).

The Research Coordinator will work closely with the PI, the research team and the BC Association of Farmers¿ Markets to plan all aspects of the research and will be responsible to oversee successful implementation of that plan. They will develop study protocols, standard operating procedures and questionnaires; register the RCT; hire, train and supervise staff and trainees; manage the budget, data and meetings; oversee data collection and the intervention; assist with data analysis; link researchers with the FMNCP and oversee all administrative details. Success in the role will require judgment and decision making, following procedures and guidelines set by the PI, and collaboration with the research team.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Responsible for the coordination and administration of research programs or projects
- In collaboration with the PI, develop the structure, objectives, and policies of the research project, evaluate research activities and recommend improvements when appropriate
- Work closely with the PI in the coordination of project resources
- Monitor research funding and budgeting resources in collaboration with the PI and Research Accounting
- Responsible for coordinating research staff, students and volunteers, including the delegation of tasks and duties
- Develop project timelines, monitor and control project deadlines and outcomes, and closeout of projects
- Provide research support, produce reports, and administer research policies and procedures
- May be called upon by the PI to act as their representative in the presentation of the research material to internal or external agencies, related publications, or journals
- Develop a study manual that details all study protocols

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Must have a Masters degree or a Bachelor's degree with experience in managing clinical trials
- Qualification as a Registered Dietitians is an asset
- Knowledge of public health nutrition
- Ability to plan and direct research and administrative activities within a team environment
- Ability to provide support to other members of the team and related units or teams
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of research ethics
- Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting and resource planning
- Demonstrated ability in professional writing, preparing reports and conducting literature reviews for the purpose of presentation and publication
- Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
