- Job SummaryThe Department of Computer Science, founded in the Faculty of Arts and Science in 1980, is one of four departments in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Reporting to the Assistant to the Chair/Department Secretary, the Graduate Program Assistant provides administrative support of the department’s large and growing graduate programs and serves as first point of contact/resource person for faculty, staff, and current and prospective graduate students. Acts as a liaison with a variety of departments across campus such as Graduate Studies and Graduate Admissions.

In addition this position provides back-up coverage for the Assistant to the Chair in their absence. This position may also provide back-up coverage for the Reception/Program Assistant and the Financial Secretary.
- Job Requirements**Experience**:
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 3 years of administrative support or administration experience working within a comparable environment.

- Strong administrative skills including scheduling meetings and calendar coordination.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required.
- Experience with pre-planning and recording meetings.
- Demonstrated willingness to develop and learn new systems and procedures.
- Ability to accurately interpret and clearly explain complex policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of university graduate studies policies and procedures is an asset.

**Specialized Knowledge/Education**:

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
