**KEY FUNCTION**:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Specialty Programs within the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services and assist with referral management involving the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and coordination of clinics and treatment services for clients by the multi-disciplinary allied health team and with Physician Specialists.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Coordinator, Rehabilitation Business Development.

**DUTIES**:

- Coordinate multi-disciplinary assessment services and treatment (i.e. Assessment and Consultation Services).
- Intake and review referrals for completeness and appropriateness and assign to clinics and specialists (i.e. review of medical and return to work documentation).
- Assist and support with patient flow on clinic day (i.e. assist with staple/suture removal, dressing changes and injections) as required.
- Maintain medication inventory.
- Promote service excellence by ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and other pertinent legislation; monitor service deliverables for timeliness, completeness, accuracy, quality and confidentiality.
- Take a leadership role in service improvement and development activities, including quality management efforts and service-specific processes and standards of work.
- Participate in quality review meetings with the WSIB.
- Ensure that service statistics are recorded and submitted in a timely fashion.
- Liaise with external and internal providers (i.e. Diagnostic Services, Surgical Program, Prosthetics and Orthotics services).
- Monitor workload distribution, waitlists, and billing activity and accuracy.
- Orientate new staff and provide ongoing education on new guidelines/contractual changes.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of space, equipment, and supplies.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
- Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Current Certificate of Registration as a Regulated Health Professional with an applicable regulatory college.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of two (2) years' experience working within a health care environment.
- Experience working with the WSIB is preferred.
- Training or recent experience in program development, leadership and service promotion is preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBIs), amputations and other occupational injuries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pathology, physiological and psychosocial changes and best practice guidelines for management, treatment and return to work guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), Canada Labour Code, return to work principles, and disability management practices.
- Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills.
- Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and patient information systems.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.
