**Position Overview**

These are Recurring Part-time Position. Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular basis.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Under the direction of the study coordinator, Recruitment of patients into clinical research projects: participant screening, obtaining informed consent, collecting patient data, taking clinical patient histories, patient education, booking appointments, and participant follow up
- Educate patients on all aspects of their participation in the research study
- Providing professional and knowledgeable support in regards to research patients
- Screen and log adverse events to report to the PI
- Ongoing study maintenance of the regulatory binder
- Organization and maintenance of all research patient records (hard copy and electronic) according to research policies and guidelines
- Compile data for submission to lead sites and maintenance of study databases
- Responsible for accurate data collection, data entry and analysis
- Provide all necessary support for clinical research projects relating Hematology
- Administer Study medication
- Phlebotomy (study team will train as needed)
- Screen the electronic health record for adverse events, document them, and to report to the PI and sponsor
- Compile data for submission to lead sites and maintenance of study databases as needed for monitoring visits etc.
- Provide all necessary support for clinical research projects Hematology

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Completion of Nursing Diploma or internationally trained medical professional
- Nursing students with relevant experience will be considered
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) an asset
- Phlebotomy training/experience an asset
- Recent experience in an acute care setting is preferred
- Recent employment with AHS in an acute care setting is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a medical/clinical research setting is an asset
- Experience with electronic medical records; Connect Care is an asset
- Knowledge of AHS privacy, security and compliance regulations is an asset
- Knowledge of informed consent required
- Current certifications in Good Clinical Practice, Health Canada Division 5 and Tri Council Policy Statement 2 required
