**Position Overview**

Reports to Principal Investigator.

This is recurring part-time position. Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employee engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Conduct literature review, surveys, and other research for use in scholarly publications when required
- Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with staff, peers, immediate supervisor and senior management and with the campus community
- Responsible for conducting study tasks according to direction given, the research protocol and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Required to maintain active Tri Council Policy training (TCPS2), Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and study specific training
- Includes administrative support such as scheduling and phoning patients according to the research protocol, administrative responsibilities and undertakes other tasks required by research protocol
- Manages own time effectively and ensures immediate reports to manager is kept informed of activities, and progress of work
- Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
- Screen and recruit patients into vasculitis related research studies
- Data entry
- Participate in meetings between research team members and the unit teams

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelors Degree, in health profession, epidemiology or health sciences (preference will be given to applicants who have strong medical knowledge of vasculitis diseases)
- Undergraduate degree in health profession, epidemiology or health sciences and 3 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience of working in a health institution and working with patients will be considered an asset in determining the best fit for the position
- Previous experience with data entry, literature search and clinical trials will be an asset in determining the best fit for the position
- Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy dealing with patients, staff and physicians
- Ability to communicate well with colleagues from various disciplines and external collaborators within a complex initiative
- Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet skills
- Perform detailed design, documentation, and implementation of moderately complex technological systems
- Interact with other members of the team and undertake literature reviews
- Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments
- Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
- Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
