**Job Summary**
The Coordinator, Aquatic Operations serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by supporting the operations of the Aquatic team and providing direct oversight of Slide Attendants. The main goals of this position are:
1. Provide supervision to Team Leads, Lifeguard / Instructors, and Slide Attendants, including onboarding, scheduling, and coaching, with support from the Aquatic Manager.
2. Implement and inform Aquatic Programs as developed by the Aquatic Manager.
3. Complete administrative tasks to support the functions of the team.

**Nature & Scope**
The Coordinator, Aquatic Operations will support the Aquatic team. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Exemplify the YMCA of Lethbridge’s Core Values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility.

- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, incident management and emergency response within the Aquatic team.
- Effectively communicate information exchange with internal and external stakeholders.
Organizational and Department Management
- Provide oversight and supervision to Slide Attendants within the Aquatic team, including training and development, performance management, and workforce planning
- Support the supervision of Team Leads, Lifeguard / Instructors, and Slide Attendants, volunteers, and practicum students.
- Contribute to program quality and safety by supporting Team Leads and Lifeguard / Instructors in planning and programming.
- Monitor swimming lessons to ensure safety measures are adhered to and water safety is emphasized.
- Contribute to the completion of administrative duties within Aquatic including scheduling and payroll tracking of Team Leads, Lifeguard / Instructors, Slide Attendants and Volunteers.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement aquatic programming through all Association offerings.
- Identify community needs through statistical tracking and present trends to guide future implementations.
- Monitor the mandatory certifications of Team Leads, Lifeguards / Instructors and Volunteers, and notify when certifications are coming due.
- Carry out tasks requiring a reasonable degree of concentration and the need to assess options or evaluate past practices using analytical methods and processes.
- Support, coach, evaluate, and instruct Aquatic classes and programs.
- Model best practices, upholding high standards for excellence in team implementations.
- Collaborate with the Aquatic manager to develop and evaluate Aquatic programming to meet team goals and community needs.
- Maximize programs while using efficient use of pool space.
- Support the Aquatic guarding duties as required, providing ratio support.
- Plan and program Aquatic events as necessary.
- Work in usually standardized conditions, under occasional supervision, with choice of action within defined limits to make progress towards assigned objectives.
- Attend all required YMCA trainings and recertifications.
Financial Management and Philanthropic Involvement
- Model the Association’s dedication to philanthropy.
- Participate in Fund Development Initiatives to further the impact of team efforts.
