**Position Summary**

This role will optimize the Asset Management system and process, including assisting in the implementation of expanded asset management system modules (e.g. Preventative Maintenance Scheduling and Maintenance Management). Further enhancement to the system, including maintenance scheduling and management, performance measurement and reporting, citizen engagement, and integration with other systems require the support from the Coordinator.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- **Lead Asset Management Activities**: Collaborate with the Asset Management Team and other departments to maintain and update the asset management system and plan, ensuring all data is accurate, current, and accessible.
- **Coordinate Asset Inventory Updates**: Ensure timely and precise updates to the asset inventory and associated data, in alignment with the Asset Management Directive.
- **Lifecycle Management**:Support the performance optimization of County assets throughout their entire lifecycle, from acquisition and utilization to replacement or retirement, ensuring strategic and cost-efficient management at every stage.
- **Asset Reliability**: Contribute to the reliability of County assets by leveraging data analysis and best practices to improve performance, reduce unexpected failures, and ensure operational continuity.
- **Develop and Maintain Guidelines**: Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing user guidelines, standards, and policies to guide staff in asset management practices.
- **Analyze Asset Data**: Conduct data analysis to identify lifecycle activities, costs, risks, and criticality, supporting operational and capital project planning.
- **Provide Technical Support**: Offer technical support for asset management activities, including condition assessments, data entry, and reporting.
- **Assist in Condition Reviews**: Participate in comprehensive reviews of the condition and performance of municipal infrastructure assets, providing insights for rehabilitation, replacement, or maintenance.
- **Support Process Improvement**: Help optimize asset management processes, including the implementation of new system modules, such as Preventative Maintenance Scheduling.
- **Coordinate with Departments**: Work closely with department leads to develop and refine asset lifecycle strategies, ensuring alignment with County objectives.
- **Training and Development**: Assist in training key stakeholders on asset management processes and software, fostering its integration into daily operations.
- **Ensure Data Integrity**: Maintain high levels of data accuracy and integrity within the asset management system.
- **Liaise with Stakeholders**: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate asset management activities and resolve issues.
- **Participate in Professional Development**: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in asset management.
- **Additional Duties**: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.

**Education/Training/Skills - Required**
- **Post-Secondary Education**: Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
- **Asset Management Certification**: Professional certification or designation in Asset Management (e.g., CAMP, IPWEA) is an asset.
- **Relevant Experience**: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in asset management, preferably in a municipal government, oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, or similar setting.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Strong knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and software systems. Familiarity with PSD CityWide is a plus.
- **Communication Skills**: Proficient in English, and a demonstrated ability in both oral and written communication.
- **Organizational Skills**: Strong organizational abilities, including task prioritization and time management.
- **Professionalism**: Maintain a professional and mature demeanor in all situations.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Ability to work effectively with others, displaying tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- **Driver’s License**: Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
- **Emergency Management**: Ability to obtain qualifications for participation in the County’s Emergency Coordination Centre within six months of employment.
